Nelo raises US$20 million for BNPL

Nelo, a buy now, pay later (BNPL) credit fintech, raised US$20 million in a round led by New York-based Two Sigma Ventures. The firm expects to strengthen its presence in Mexico and expand across Latin America.  

Square bets on Colombia’s Movii

Colombian fintech Movii raised US$15 million in a round co-led by US firms Square, lnc. and Hard Yaka. Movii’s offering includes a digital wallet, Mastercard debit card, cryptocurrency exchange, international transfers and sports betting. It plans to use the proceeds to accelerate its growth and launch a Fintech as a service (FaaS) platform.

YC’s wealthtech Trii raises US$5.5 million

Wealthtech Trii raised US$5.5 million in a seed round led by Global Founders Capital. The startup, which was backed by Y Combinator, said it will start operations in Peru and Chile in the coming months and aims to become a digital bank in the long term.  

Finzi e-wallet raises US$ 350,000 in pre-seed round

Finzi, a Colombian e-wallet targeted at teenagers, raised US$350,000 in a round that included the participation of angel investor Allen Gannet, First Check Ventures and Innopact VC. Finzi has created a wallet for children over 10 years old with a Visa debit card, and it already has a waiting list for the product’s launch.
