Konfío is the region’s latest unicorn

Konfío, a Mexican fintech specializing in small business lending, became a unicorn after reaching a valuation of US$1.3 billion. The company raised US$110 million following the extension of a Series E round led by Tarsadia Capital and QED Investors. It’s the fourth Mexican firm to achieve unicorn status after Kavak, Bitso and Clip.
The fintech will use the proceeds to expand its offering and for fresh acquisitions after buying point-of-sale terminal company Sr. Pago in August.
