Facebook launches payments via WhatsApp
Facebook has launched a function that allows WhatsApp users in Brazil to transfer money and pay for products and services directly through the app. The launch is a world-first for the messaging service. Nubank, Banco do Brasil, Sicredi, Visa and Mastercard are among the institutions that are collaborating on the project.
Constellation Software acquires Infocorp
Infocorp, a banking technology company in Uruguay, has been acquired by the Canadian group Constellation Software. The Canadian buyer says it has more than 125 thousand clients in more than 100 countries that use software solutions from its various subsidiaries.
Remessa Online closes investment for more than $20m
Brazilian cross-border transfers startup Remessa Online has secured an investment round with Kaszek Ventures for BRL110m ($20m). Remessa will use the cash to expand its product to small and medium-sized companies.
La Haus scores investment round for $10m
Colombian digital real estate fintech La Haus has closed a Series A investment round with Kaszek Ventures for $10million. In recent months, the Colombian fintech -which also operates in Mexico- has recorded 26% growth, despite the crisis.
